Solas is really out there having his own A Christmas Carol story where the ghosts* of his past (Mythal), present (Rook), and future (Lavellan) to confront his shit and change his ways and off the path of destruction.

*only one of them is a literal ghost okay.

Please, for the love of god, look at all this datamined content from Veilguard by @ northgalis!! (There's also dialogue trees and letters by Varric!)

The fact Morrigan, Mythal fragment and all, is both surprised by Rook's mercy and genuinely pleased that Solas' story ended in a place of love!!! The secret romantic you are, Morrigan!

And this also frames Rook's choice to save Solas and do the regret missions as something Rook does out of admiration and maybe pity for the Inquisitor.

My Rooks both admire the Inquisitor. First Rook saw her as a bastion of strength and hope, second Rook can't sleep at night because of how fucking romantic and tragic it is to have fallen in love with the quintessential trickster god in all of Thedas while being Andraste's chosen.

And then there's Varric's letter to Charter!

Daily I am sad about the fact Rook, no matter How u play them, is kind of isolated because they're always checking on the rest but they only have varric and uh. Yeah

I understand the companions are important but what about Rook? As much as we need to support uplift the companions, do we get the same in turn? Or are we just a soundboard who’s only there to act as a judge and make decisions. Do we get checked in on by our companions? Do we matter to them as much they’re supposed to matter to us?

Does Rook have their own life and fears and concerns outside of stopping the A plot? ‘Rook is there because they want to be. They’re the leader because they chose to be.’ Do we get to find out why?
